What you can expect, and what we ask.
Formulaite helps you keep your formulations, your notes and your maths in order. It does not make your products safe to sell — that part stays yours.

1. Who we are
Formulaite is operated by [YOUR FULL LEGAL NAME], a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@formulaite.app. By using this website or the Formulaite application you agree to these terms.
2. Safety — please read this one properly
Formulaite is a formulation and research tool. It is not a safety assessment, and it is not a safety assessor.
If you intend to sell a cosmetic product in the UK or EU, the law requires a Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR) prepared by a qualified safety assessor, along with product notification and other duties. Nothing Formulaite shows you — not a percentage, not a pH range, not a usage band, not a compatibility suggestion — satisfies any of those obligations or replaces professional judgement.
You are responsible for what you make and for anything you sell. That includes verifying every ingredient against the supplier's own technical and safety data sheets, obeying the concentration limits and restrictions that apply where you are, testing appropriately, and getting a qualified assessment before a product reaches anyone else.
If you are making things for yourself, take the same care: patch test, work clean, and treat anything you read here as a starting point rather than an instruction.
3. About the information in Formulaite
Formulaite includes ingredient information gathered from suppliers, public databases and published sources, plus features that use artificial intelligence to draft, summarise and suggest.
- Ingredient data is provided as a reference and without warranty. It may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. The supplier's own documentation always takes precedence.
- AI-generated suggestions can be confidently mistaken. Check anything that matters before you act on it.
- Where we can show you the source of a piece of information, we do. Please use it.
4. Early access
Formulaite is not yet generally available. If you join the early access list we will email you when places open; we cannot promise when that will be, or that everyone on the list will be offered a place.
During early access the service is provided free of charge, may change substantially or break, and may be unavailable without notice. Please keep your own copies of anything you would be upset to lose.
5. Your formulations stay yours
You keep all rights in the formulations, notes and other content you create in Formulaite. We do not claim ownership of them and we do not sell them. We store and process them only in order to provide the service to you.
We keep the rights in Formulaite itself — the software, the design and our own compiled ingredient data.
6. Using the service properly
Please do not use Formulaite to break the law, to attack or overload the service, to scrape it wholesale, to resell access to it, or to upload anything you do not have the right to upload. We may suspend or end access where someone is doing these things.
7. Our liability
Formulaite is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not accept liability for loss of profit, loss of business, wasted expenditure, or for any product you make, use, give away or sell using this tool.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or £100.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
8. Privacy
What we do with your personal information is set out in our privacy notice.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the product develops. We will change the date at the top, and where a change materially affects you and we have your email address, we will tell you.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
